Belong to the project of development 1800MW of Cong Thanh Thermo-Electric Joint Stock Company electrical power center at Nghi Son District - Thanh Hoa Province, Cong Thanh Thermo-Electric Joint Stock Company was established to supply the electricity for Cong Thanh Cement Joint Stock Company and Nghi Son Industrial Zone. This project was approved by the Prime Minister for investment according to national electricity planning development in the period from the year 2006 to 2015 in the documents of 7021/VPCP-CN on 03/12/2007; No. 801/VPCP-KTN on 10/02/2009 approved by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the location planning in decisions of 1158/QD-BCT on 06th March, 2009. In order to supply electricity for our Group and for the national electrical network in the future, which also opens many jobs for thousands of people in Thanh Hoa Province. During the process of construction and production, Cong Thanh Thermo-Electric Joint Stock Company has decided to apply modern European technology to achieve high productivity, production costs reduction and environment protection; which supports to the development of Nghi Son Industrial Zone, offers more jobs for the local labor force and contributes to the government budget.
Construction Begins on 13 Trillion VND Thermal Power Plant. On March 5, 2011, the Cong Thanh Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 600MW officially commenced construction in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, with a total investment of 13 trillion VND.
According to the design, the Cong Thanh Thermal Power Plant, invested by Cong Thanh Cement Corporation, has a capacity of 600MW, including 2 units, each with a capacity of 300MW. It is expected that Unit 1 will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2014 and Unit 2 in the third quarter of 2014. Once operational, the plant will supply 3.9 billion kWh of electricity per year, initially supplying electricity to the Cong Thanh Cement plant and the Nghi Son Industrial Park, which is part of the central development plan.
The Cong Thanh Thermal Power Plant project was approved by the Prime Minister through Decision 40/2003/QD-TTg dated March 21, 2003, to supply electricity to the corporation and eventually to the national grid. During the construction and operation process, Cong Thanh Cement Corporation prioritizes the use of modern technology according to EU standards, ensuring high efficiency, helping to reduce production costs and protect the environment, contributing to the development of the Nghi Son Industrial Park, creating jobs for local workers and contributing to the state budget.
